Stackable Self-Retaining Spacers
Self retaining spacers are used to insulate the heads of screws on a PCB (printed circuit board), while providing the desired spacing between the chassis and the PCB.
How do self retaining spacers work?
Self retaining spacers are similar to round spacers or hex spacers, but with special inside diameters that are designed to grip the screw's outside shank. They have snap-in mounting mechanisms that ensure the required space is maintained even when a screw is removed.
The snap-in standoff snaps into the PCB so that its locked in position. Self retaining spacers are designed to raise stacked sections, reduce physical contact between two components and create enough space for heat dissipation. Self retaining spacers are available in several spacing heights to suit different applications.
